New version of the iconic romantic ballet Giselle

Giselle, for the National Ballet of Cuba will return to the Gran Teatro de La Habana «Alicia Alonso». The main roles will be assumed by Anette Delgado (18 and 26), Viengsay Valdés (17 and 19), Sadaise Arencibia (24), Ginett Moncho (17, 19 and 26) and Dani Hernández (18).
This season of one of the classics most applauded by the public and critics marks the debut of young figures of the company directed by Alicia Alonso: Grettel Morejón (25), in the character of Giselle; Rafael Quenedit (25), Raúl Abreu (24) and Patricio Revé (17 and 19) as Albrecht, Duke of Silesia; Claudia Garcia (18 and 24) and Glenda Garcia (25) will play the role of Myrtha, Queen of the Willis, and Julio Blanes (18 and 25) of Hilarion.
The choreographic version of Giselle, made by Alicia Alonso has been incorporated into the repertoire of prestigious international dance groups. Among them the Colon Theater, Buenos Aires, Argentina, 1958; The Greek Theater, Los Angeles, California, United States, 1958; The Opera Ballet of Paris, France, 1972; The Ballet of the Theater of Fine Arts, Mexico, 1976; The Ballet of the State Opera of Vienna, 1980; The San Carlo Theater Ballet, Naples, Italy, 1981; And the Slovak National Theater Ballet in 1989.
In 1966 Alicia Alonso received the Grand Prix de la Ville in Paris, at the IV International Dance Festival, held at the Theater of the Champs Elysees, for her choreographic version and personal interpretation of the ballet Giselle.
