Cuba Absolutely Review
Cuban baroque meets modern minimalist in Habaguanex’s newest offering, and the results are something to behold. Spreading 27 rooms over six floors in the blustery Plaza San Francisco de Asís, this place is living proof that Habaguanex’s delicate restoration work is getting better and better.
The building that now houses hotel Palacio del Marqués de San Felipe y Santiago de Bejucal dates back to the late 18th century, when it belonged to Don Sebastián de Peñalver. At the beginning of the 19th century the property changed hands to the successors of the IV Marquee of San Felipe and Santiago after who the hotel was named.
The baroque facade of Palacio del Marqués de San Felipe y Santiago de Bejucal blends perfectly with the interior where you find elegant furnishings and modern utilities. Renowned Cuban artists contributed works for the hotel’s decoration. The telescope on the roof top terrace on the sixth floor allows visitors to take in the splendor of Old Havana.
Tastefully decorated guest rooms all offer satellite TV, a safety deposit box, hair dryer, minibar, private bathroom, cold & hot water, amenity kit, telephone and a desk. The suites offer an additional Jacuzzi and DVD player.
It is conveniently located at Plaza de San Francisco de Asís to start your walking tour around Old Havana. Only a 10-minute walk away from Parque Central.
