The mansion, declared National Monument in 1997 and property of Dulce María Loynaz (1902-1997), one of the most important poets of the Spanish-speaking world, was beautifully restored and is being transformed into a museum. Today, it houses and arts center that bears her name. Opened in 2005, during the 16th Havana International Book Fair, the Centro Cultural Dulce María Loynaz quickly became a landmark in the city’s literary scene. In addition to promoting literature, this is the highest literary authority in Cuba, with a monthly program of poetry, literature, theater, music, etc.
