  • Organized by Cuba’s University of the Arts (ISA), Festival de las Artes includes theater, exhibition, audiovisual screenings, competitions, lectures, master classes, demonstrations and workshops aimed at promoting the work of young artists; creating opportunities for a dialogue between writers and artists of different manifestations, training and origins; and showing the teaching process of students and graduates from the University of the Arts, conservatories and academies of the artistic educational system both in Cuba and in universities and art schools abroad.   • Held for the first time in 2006, the Week of Contemporary Art includes Espacio Cero, an exhibition/competition salon; Intercambios, theoretical event that will hold a competition of essays on contemporary art; Media Art, dedicated to new mediums in art with video-art, net-art, sound interventions, electronic music and other modes of digital creations; and Arte Público with performances, public interventions, environments and happenings.

  • The organizing committee of the Festival de Arte Beny Moré has emphasized their interest in attracting young people to this celebration, and will open spaces for rock, Afro-Cuban folklore, peasant, electronic and classical music, trova and jazz.
