This captivating and incredibly detailed scale model (1:500) of the old city is a must-see while exploring Habana Vieja, of which it provides a great overall perspective. Measuring 8 meteres long by 6 meters wide, and covering 48 square meters, the model took three years to build, and is enlivened by an evocative sound and light show that includes a faux sunrise and sunset.
It was opened to the public by Queen Sofia of Spain in 1999 after a five-year labor.
